In a video created and published by the famous Evan Blass, known for introducing tech scoops, it can be seen that the new Motorola Razr 3, in a way, preserves the essence of the earlier models. The most notable change is that the phone has lost its chin at the bottom of the screen, a feature that has been the hallmark of the brand’s hardware.

This change brings more similarity between the Motorola Razr 3 and Samsung’s Flip, especially due to the presence of a hole where the selfie camera can be installed without creating any creases in the screen.

Other details mentioned in the video are the inclusion of two rear cameras, a fingerprint reader integrated into the power button, and a large external display.

Motorola Razr 3 will have increased processing power

It appears the rumors have been confirmed. Motorola Razr 3 will be launched with Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor. This will be the first time that this technology will be implemented in a foldable smartphone.

Even the company’s general manager, Shane Jin, posted a teaser informing him of the arrival of the Qualcomm processor to Motorola. And while there’s no mention of a new release, belief about this partnership is strong, considering Motorola’s commitment to the new foldable model.

But as Jane himself pointed out, there is an “Easter egg” hidden in the joke, although it’s quite evident when you see a “V”-shaped light source, which forms the silhouette of a foldable mobile phone.

The highlight of the device also revolves around other improvements over the Razr 5G, the previous model launched in 2020. This device has a larger 6.7-inch screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz.

The device is a reinterpretation of the popular and nostalgic Motorola V3, whose similarity can be seen in the closed Motorola Razr. The foldable smartphone forms a square, and takes a new turn away from recent remodels of the device and also from the original design.

The Motorola Razr will have a fingerprint sensor in a new space. From now on, to lock and unlock the cell phone, you will need to touch the on/off button located on the side of the device. In the Razr 2019 release, Motorola placed the fingerprint sensor on the chin of the mobile phone. Later go to the back of the device which was upgraded to 5G in the 2020 version.

Motorola Razr 3 design

The new design of the Motorola Razr 3 will come with a boxer version and sensors with a dual camera. The intention is to compete with Samsung’s foldable flagship, the Galaxy Z Flip 3. Even because the first two versions of the Razr didn’t go as expected.

For example, the 2019 version launched at $1,499. The price is unjustified amid a lot of flaws, with a rugged screen, squeaky hinge, and sub-par camera quality.

Motorola’s second iteration wasn’t much better, as 5G was added, a feature in and of itself that doesn’t justify the device’s $1,399 cost. It is important to note that Lenovo bought the mobile phone brand in 2014. The company expects to launch the third generation of the Razr between July and August, tentatively, in China. At the moment, there are still no expectations for releases in other countries, such as Brazil.
