On Wednesday, Nova SBE presented three events, which will feature various international speakers, that address topics related to global impact in strategic areas of sustainable economic and social development. The Estoril, Nova SBE Sustainable Journey, and Supermassive Event conferences will be held in June, July, September and October, respectively, for students to get their start on the right foot in the next academic year 2022/2023.

These events are held with a focus on engaging young people to be an active part of society in relation to current global challenges.
According to the Dean of Nova SBE, Daniel Traka, “To be a manager it is not enough to know something about management” and it is necessary to “have people from all branches” in the management world, it is known that it is necessary to address issues such as sustainability, democracy, economics, planet and technology, a job, Thus, the three events are the stage for these themes that shape the students for a not so distant future.

Estoril Conferences take place on 1st and 2nd September, with the participation of more than 50 speakers, in more than 20 sessions. These conferences will be in person, and it will also be possible to attend them OnlineAnd. Discussions will include topics such as climate change, the path to sustainability, technology for social impact, mental health, education systems, as well as peace, given recent events in Ukraine.

The event is expected to have more than 2,000 attendees in person at Campus From Nova SBE – This is a free but venue-limited event – both nationally and internationally, but will be held simultaneously at CEMS Network schools (Global Alliance in Education Managementsuch as Aalto University (Finland), London School of Business and Economics (UK), University of Los Andes (Colombia) and Ivy Business School (Canada).
The Estoril Conferences are supported by the City Council of Cascais and Turismo de Portugal, the representation of the European Commission in Portugal and the United Nations Regional Information Center – United Nations Regional Information Centre.
The Sustainability Journey, which runs from June 22 to July 1 at Nova SBE University, focuses on the school’s purpose of reimagining the principles of management science, economics, and politics, along with the institutional ecosystem. During these two weeks, the main objective is to introduce sustainability best practices with the participation of students, educators, researchers and companies. Nova SBE’s sustainability journey includes around 30 different events and initiatives with partners and speakers, both nationally and internationally.
Finally, the Supermassive event, taking place on October 27 and 28 that introduces people to exponential technologies, such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality, that are already present in everyday life. Technology is an important component of economic, social, cultural and industrial development, and this meeting, co-organised by Nova SBE and SingularityU Portugal, aims to prepare companies for the future of business.
Supermassive brings together thinkers, leaders and actors of different generations to help redefine the future of business, technology and society in Portugal and around the world. The massive event will feature lectures by ten local and international speakers, including David Roberts (Innovation and Disruption), Layla Pollack (Leadership with Impact), Arash Azami (The Future of Energy) and Eduardo Ibrahim (Exponential Economics), as well as immersive gaming experiences and a hackathon.
