activity bracelet Xiaomi Mi Band 7 It will be presented tomorrow May 24, 2022. It looks like the improvements will be significant in terms of connectivity and screen as well as physical activity tracking capabilities in this Smart Band.
Currently, in Portugal, we have the Mi Band 6 on sale in Mi Store Portugal, which tends to show the arrival of a new model. Best of all? Even before the presentation, the next generation of the smartband is on pre-sale in China.
This is the new generation of Xiaomi smart phones for 2022
Xiaomi Mi Band 7 is currently in the pre-purchase stage on the Chinese online store JD.com. It was from its list that we were able to get a summary of its technical characteristics, as well as make sure of its general design even before its official presentation.
First, we will have two copies of this activity bracelet. Thus we will have a bracelet or traditional Basicas well as a version with an NFC connection to mediate, for example, payments contact to arrive later.
By the way, we remember that this same strategy was adopted last year with the current Mi Band 6 and Mi Band 6 NFC. In addition, we recall the launch prices of these bracelets, which cost 230 Yuan and 280 Yuan in China, respectively. Prices were for Europe 45 EUR and 55 euros, respectively.
The screen is bigger on the Xiaomi Mi Band 7
The design is almost the same, with no disruptive changes to the overall look and build of the Xiaomi smartband. However, we have improvements regarding the screen, from 1.56 inches to 1.62 inch diagonally in the new Mi Band 7.
Therefore, we will have a 25% increase in screen size, with more space for displaying information. This way, the manufacturer will be able to offer more content to the user from their wrist in this new bracelet.
Mi Band 7 can also track blood oximetry indicators, the SpO2 indicator. In practice, if this indicator is less than 90% of the oxygen saturation in the blood, the bracelet will vibrate to alert the user.
This automatic behavior will be particularly useful for users with sleep apnea, where a vibration on the wrist can be enough to practically wake them up. The same applies to those who snore during sleep, for example.
More workout tracking capabilities
Xiaomi Mi Band 7 will also have more functions to help us train, track and record our physical activity, among other capabilities in this area. Among these, we highlight a new physical exertion calculator based on indices of EPOC (Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption).
This metric is calculated based on the last 7 days of physical activity information and will provide useful information for optimal recovery after exercise. Likewise, they will also provide new tips for those who want to increase muscle mass, or lose weight and burn fat.
Xiaomi has already confirmed the presentation date of Mi Band 7
Through its official channels, such as the Chinese social network Weibo, Xiaomi has already confirmed the May 24 date in its home country. This is when the next generation of the smartband will be officially unveiled to the Chinese public.
However, there are technical specifications that still need to be confirmed, such as the integrated GPS location, or even the always-on display mode, always available. Anyway, tomorrow we will have all the confirmations.
At the moment we don’t have information on the potential retail price of the new bracelet, nor do we know how it will be available. However, everything points to the price preservation practiced by the current generation Mi Band 6.
Finally, the current generations of Xiaomi activity bracelets will sell more than 140 million units worldwide. Incidentally, the Mi Band 6 mainly contributed to this, with over a million sales during its first month on the market in 2021.
