The beginning of the second part!

Downtime at Sines and the first part of the derby didn’t disappoint. Benfica and Sporting put on a futsal show, setting fire to nearly 2,000 fans that filled the entire Molteosos.

And the game couldn’t have started better for lions. After 9 (!) seconds, Thomas Baku, after a pass from Alex Merlem, crossed into the upper left corner of Andre Sousa’s goal, and opened the scoring.

Leonen’s supremacy became an incredible fact, in a way that in the 14th minute heightened the feud for Eric Mendonca, with a subtle deflecting of a long shot from Alex Merlim.

But, derby is derby, there are so many emotions. Benfica ran after the damage and in just 15 seconds (!) scored two goals: Ivan Chichkala, with a mid-range shot, reduced, and Rocha, with a shot in the upper right corner of the Jetta goal, equalized. All this in the 16th minute.

There really is a difference!

A little less than half an hour before the start of the derby, the stage of the match, in Sines, was already very well composed, with many fans from both teams, so this Benfica-Sporting is expected to be full house.

On the way to this crucial duel, and looking at the two teams’ trajectory in the eighth final (it all happened in Pavilhão Multiusos de Sines, all this week), Sporting left Candoso (9-2) on the way, in the quarter-finals, and Quinta dos Lombos (4- 1), in the semi-finals. On the other hand, Benfica eliminated Caxenas (3-1) in the quarter-finals, and Maritimo (3-2) in the semi-finals.

Overall, the numbers are mouth watering in this derby. All because Sporting will enter the field as the club that has won the most Portuguese trophies in its history (8), with Benfica emerging in its wake (7). In other words, tonight, in Sines, either the lion takes off, or the eagle leaves everything as it is.

This is the fifth final of the Futsal Queen competition between the Eagles and the Lions, and in the four decisive duels made so far, the green and white logo has always prevailed: 9-5, in 2005/06; 3-2, in 2010/11, after extra time; 4-2, in 2015/2016; 5-5 (3-2, on penalties) in 2018/2019.

This Saturday, starting at 8pm, Benfica and Sporting will face each other in the battle for the Portuguese Cup, in a match to be held in Pavilhão Multiusos de Sines which, of course, will be accompanied by A BOLA online. Don’t get out of there, dear reader: here comes the best futsal game in the world. It’s the eternal derby!

Good afternoon!
