The Midwest’s biggest fair kicked off Tuesday (17/5) with personalized programming after two years of remote events due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. The event takes place through May 21, at Ivaldo Cenci Technological Park, located in the Federal District Direct Settlement Program (PAD-DF), approximately 70 kilometers from the center of the country’s capital. On Tuesday AgroBrasília will deliver a lecture with the researcher from the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa), Emerson Borghi, at 2:30 pm. The topic will be the early temporary planting of the second corn crop among the soybean strains.

The president of AgroBrasília, Ronaldo Triaca, highlights the growth of the fair in recent years. “We had to widen and pave new streets to accommodate the exhibitors in this version. The product was really missing that direct connection, this comparison of a lot of technology in one place,” he highlights.

Triacca notes that the exhibition has been standardized with a scope beyond that of DF. He adds: “It is an exhibition in the central plateau, and its range is more than 250 km. We receive producers from different regions, including from outside the country.”

The event is expected to receive between 90,000 and 120,000 visitors in the five days of programming. The exhibition presents technological innovations, bio-input research and biological monitoring of producers. Other highlights are the symposiums on viticulture and women’s cultivation.

In the opinion of José Guilherme Brenner, President of Cooperativa Agropecuária da Região do DF (Coopa-DF), the PAD-DF region is distinguished by the quality of its production, which has contributed to enhancing the success of the exhibition. “We are going to have many innovative companies in these five days of events, disputes between startups, and a lot of news.” ,

The fair is organized by Coopa-DF, which has about 200 members, and has the support of the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company (Emater-DF), Supply Centers (Ceasa) and the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (Seagri).
