EA Sports FC: EA unveils successor to FIFA 22 and FIFA 23 | FIFA

EA Sports announced on Tuesday that EA Sports FC will be the next name in FIFA’s virtual football franchise. Defined by the developer as the start of an “exciting new era”, the name will be adopted in July 2023, after FIFA 23.

Next year, EA SPORTS FC will become the future of EA SPORTS football. Together with our 300+ licensing partners across the sport, we are ready to take global football experiences to new heights, on behalf of all football fans around the world.”

In its statement, EA said the game will continue with the same trials, modes, tournaments, tournaments, clubs, athletes, Ultimate Team, Pro Clubs and VOLTA Football.

Our unique suite of licenses of over 17,000 players, over 700 teams, over 100 stadiums and 30 leagues that we’ve invested in for decades will continue to exist, exclusively on EA SPORTS FC. This includes exclusive partnerships with CONMEBOL Libertadores, Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, MLS – reads announcement.

The move is prompted by the end of the long-standing partnership between Electronic Arts and FIFA. In October last year, General Manager Product, Cam Webber, reported that the FIFA franchise might change its name due to a review of the partnership between the company and FIFA itself to use the name of the top footballing entity.

According to an article in the American newspaper “The New York Times” last year, EA Sports is paying FIFA $100 million annually, and as reported by UOL, it believes it can save the amount while still providing a real experience, with licenses from leagues such as the Champions League (Champions League Champions), Copa Libertadores, Premier League (English Premier League), La Liga (Spanish League), Bundesliga (German League) and more.

The agreement with FIFA allows the publisher to use the FIFA name in the games and for the production of official World Cup matches. It also gives you the right to be a partner in organizing esports tournaments for the entity, such as the FIFA World Cup (formerly FIFA Interactive World Cup).

The company has defined the rebranding as more than just a code change, and the name EA Sports FC will be a code change.

We are committed to significant reinvestment in the sport and are excited to work with a large and growing number of partners to expand new, authentic experiences that bring joy, inclusion and immersion into a global community of fans. I can’t wait to share more details about these plans in the coming months.

Before moving forward, EA promised to close the FIFA ring, which debuted in 1993, with “the most extensive game ever with our current naming partner, FIFA, for another year.”

– We are committed to ensuring that the next FIFA will be the best ever, with more features, game modes, World Cup content, clubs, tournaments, competitions and players than any FIFA released before.

Competitors of EA Sports, Konami has also changed the name of the soccer game franchise. After years of using the Pro Evolution Soccer brand, the company made the game free and adopted eFootball, also marking the shift to the game-as-a-service model that spans across multiple platforms. When it was introduced, eFootball 2022 was a joke for its rough graphics and weird glitches. An update, released in April of this year, fixed the bug.
