EURO 2028/32 التقديم APPLICATION PROCESS
The UEFA Executive Committee has declared that the application by the Russian Football Federation (FUR) to organize UEFA EURO 2028 or UEFA EURO 2032 is ineligible, in accordance with Article 16.02 of the UEFA Final Application Regulations and Final Rounds, which states that “ every bidder must: Ensure that they are not behaving in a manner that would put the UEFA, UEFA Final, UEFA Final Championship or any other bidder (or any employee, official or representative of any of the above), the bidding process or European football in disrepute.”
Moreover, “the automatic qualification of the host team(s) (…) to one host (…) shall be guaranteed”. Therefore, given the uncertainty as to when the suspension would be lifted, receiving an offer from FUR would also contravene the decision of the UEFA Executive Committee on February 28, 2022. As the decision suspended all Russian teams and clubs from participating in UEFA matches and competitions until further notice, it would be The inconsistency if the federation, whose teams are currently suspended from participating in any of the UEFA competitions, has applied to hold a tournament on its home soil.
The UEFA Executive Committee will stand ready for further meetings to reassess the legal and factual situation as it evolves and to adopt further decisions as necessary.
